Florence Crittenton Services of Colorado is the largest and most complete provider of services to teen parents in the state of Colorado. We served approximately 500 teen parents and their children in the Denver metro area in 2009-2010. Of those, 80% identified themselves as Hispanic, 12% African American, 6% Caucasian and 2% other.
Florence Crittenton School
- Over the past three years, 86% of students who attended Florence Crittenton during their senior year graduated with a high school diploma.
- 90% of 2010 graduates enrolled in a post-secondary education program or obtained employment with potential for career growth.
- 88% of students who were pregnant set the stage for positive parenting by delivering full-term (at least 37 weeks), healthy birth-weight (at least 5.5 lbs) babies
- During Summer School 2010, 48 students enrolled, with a 96% completion rate.
- 96% of summer school completers earned credits/improved grades.
Early Learning Center
- The Early Learning Center has earcned a coveted 3-star rating from Qualistar. One classroom has four stars.
- Two classrooms offer Early Head Start.
- 97% of the children enrolled in the Center for at least four months were at or above their expected developmental level as measured by the Ounce assessment tool.
- 100% of the babies enrolled in the Center were current on basic immunizations based on licensing and medical practice standards.
- The Center maintained its 3-Star Qualistar rating,and one classroom earned 4 stars!.
Young Fathers Services
118 young dads received services which increased their self-confidence and prepared them for attaining and retaining employment through programs such as pre-employment counseling, parenting classes, work experiences, tutoring and GED support during the 2009-10 school year. The Young Fathers Program has been folded into the new Family Engagement Center.
