the florence crittenton schoolfor pregnant and parenting teens For pregnant and parenting teen mothers, Parent Pathways provides education, career guidance and parenting training at the Florence Crittenton School. In a unique collaboration with Denver Public Schools, Parent Pathways helps teen mothers stay in school and graduate, give birth to healthy babies, learn how to be nurturing mothers, pursue post-secondary education and acquire marketable job skills. The Florence Crittenton School is the largest and most complete provider of services to teen mothers in Denver. In mid-August, we opened the doors of Florence Crittenton School and began creating cycles of success for another school year. See pictures.

Entrance Information, Procedures and Dates: Students who are interested in enrolling at Florence Crittenton School should contact the school at 303-715-5620. A referral form must be filled out prior to enrolling. New students are able to enroll at the start of each quarter (August, October, January, March). It is preferred that the referral form be filled out at least two weeks before the start of the new quarter.

More than 1,000 Denver County teens become pregnant each year. Pregnancy is the No. 1 reason a girl drops out of high school, with fewer than half finishing. Lack of childcare is a major reason. Female high school dropouts earn 41% less than a high school graduates, and are 40% more likely to rely on public assistance. Over a lifetime, a high school dropout costs society $260,000 in lost earnings, taxes and productivity. Children of high school dropouts are up to 33% less likely to graduate from high school. They’re also more likely to end up in prison.
