meet jennifer
Jennifer Castillo, who is raising sons Juan, 4, and Anthony, 2, recently received a $1,000 scholarship from Comcast. She has been attending the Florence Crittenton School since the 8th grade. "I think it changed me a lot," she says of teen motherhood, and the support she has received at Florence Crittenton. "I used to be bad. I wouldn't listen to my mother. Being a mother myself has made me much more understanding of her." She said the school has helped her in so many ways, including providing childcare for her children when she was a new mom and helping her secure the funds she needed for day care when they aged out of the ELC. "When I didn't have the money to buy diapers, they gave me diapers," she says. "That's a big help. The nurse makes sure my baby gets shots." More recently she has benefited from guidance as she makes her plans for after graduation. Jennifer is a senior and plans to become a nurse. Jennifer is creating a cycle of success! |
