meet karla

Karla Jaquez-Ochoa has a three-year-old son named Aleksey who gives sweet little kisses.

She said, “I love my son so much. He is so special to me, especially when he gives me hugs and kisses.  When he kisses me he licks saliva all over my face and that is very special because I know that this is not going to happen 10 years from now.”

Becoming a teen mother is just one more barrier in life Karla is learning to overcome.  She said, “Everyone is going to have barriers in their life, we just need to find the best way to work with what we have and learn how to fix our problems and work through our situations.”

Karla is thankful for all the help she has received from the Florence Crittenton School and the staff. She said, “I want to thank all the teachers who helped me when I needed it. I think the School was very helpful because everyone is always there to help you and your children with anything you need. I don’t know the words to describe how thankful I am and how I feel about all the things they have offered to me.”

She continued, “My son has been in the Early Learning Center since he was three-months-old, I am so thankful for all that he has been taught and learned in his time there.”

Karla’s plans are to keep moving forward in life. She said, “I plan to get a job and keep working on all the issues in my life.  I would like to go to college, but I know there are other things I need to work on first.”
