LyVette Groce has an eight-month-old daughter named Harmonie who is determine to discover who she is.
She said, “She is her own person and she doesn’t care what anyone has to say about it.”
Becoming a teen mother has made LyVette think about others more. She said, “It has made me think about life a little more. It has taught me to not just think about myself and my needs, but to think about the needs of others and their lives as well.”
She has some advice for others, “Don’t give up. Keep going to make your dreams come true.”
The Florence Crittenton School and the Early Learning Center have motivated LyVette to keep reaching for her dreams. She said, “They have taught me not to be scared of being a teen mother and taught me the skills I need to raise my daughter. They have also shown me that there are others out there who have similar problems, and we can all learn from each other. They made me realize I wasn’t alone.”
She continued, “The Early Learning Center has helped me to become a better parent and has helped me to gain the skills I need to raise my daughter.”
LyVette plans to continue her education. She said, “I am going to college to become an accountant. I also want to get married and continue to raise a healthy family.”
