Position Title: Corporate Relations, Special Events & Volunteer Manager  
Status:

Full-time exempt with full benefits

Date: April 2008

General Description of Duties:  This position, reports to the Vice President of Development and is responsible for the efficient and successful execution of Parent Pathways’ corporate relations, special events, and volunteer management.

Specific Skills Required:

Corporate Relations

  • Develop appropriate relationships with a variety of corporations, businesses, and organizations.
  • Secure corporate involvement through sponsorships and volunteers for program delivery, projects, and special events.
  • Work with program staff and individuals, businesses, and/or community groups to develop and implement projects to increase in-kind giving such as school supplies, food, clothing, and holiday gift drives to benefit Parent Pathway’s clients.

Special Event

  • Manage all phases of major special events.
  • Secure event sponsorships and in-kind gifts for each event.
  • Recruit and manage key volunteer leadership.
  • Recruit viable volunteer committees that will be intricately involved in the planning. process, providing assistance in securing sponsorships, and executing necessary logistics.
  • Develop special event budgets and manage each event within that budget.
  • Serve as the main contact for sponsors, vendors, volunteers, donors, etc.
  • Assist community relations staff in securing media partners and in periodic event updates on Parent Pathways website and others.
  • Maintain accurate computer files, contact lists, and participant/volunteer lists.
  • Oversee third party events.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned or needed.

Volunteer Management

  • Work with appropriate staff on an ongoing basis to identify and define appropriate assignments for volunteers. 
  • Prepare a volunteer assignment guide or description for each approved assignment. 
  • Prepare written materials to support the orientation process.
  • Recruit, interview, and train applicants for ongoing volunteer service.  Complete new volunteer processing according to established guidelines.
  • Work with program staff to ensure that appropriate program orientation and “on the job” training is provided for each new volunteer.  Increase retention rates annually.
  • Refer applicants to specific program managers for placement as appropriate. 
  • Develop a standard process and materials for evaluating individual volunteer performance and assessing volunteer satisfaction on an annual basis. 
  • Evaluate the effectiveness and viability of each assignment on an annual basis. 
  • Plan and implement both formal and informal volunteer recognition activities.
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for individuals, businesses, and/or community groups seeking a one-time project or activity.  Work with appropriate program staff to determine feasibility and define the project/activity.  Assist with coordination as appropriate.
  • Maintain all volunteer files according to established guidelines. Maintain a record of volunteer names and hours served.  Prepare a statistical report on a regular basis and a year-end summary of the number of volunteers and hours of service provided.
  • Ensure staff and volunteers adhere to Parent Pathways policies and procedures.

Minimum Education, Experience & Other Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in public relations, communications, business, nonprofit management, or related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in successful corporate relations, event planning, and volunteer management.
  • Excellent teamwork, organizational, and planning skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment and adhere to timelines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills.
  • Detail oriented and well organized.
  • Solid experience recruiting, managing, and leading volunteers.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of people.
  • Computer proficient in Microsoft Word, Xcel, Power Point, Raisers Edge (or similar donor database), and Internet.
  • Requires some weekend and evening work.  Must have reliable transportation for local travel.

Position Title: Counseling Manager  
Status:

Full-time exempt with full benefits

Date: April 2008

General Description of Duties:  Position reports to the Principal/Program Director of the Florence Crittenton School and is responsible for supervising counseling staff, providing leadership for the clinical team, and providing counseling and case management services to students enrolled in the school.  Essential responsibilities and duties include:

  • Provide leadership for counseling services at the school, including defining and refining the counseling service model and strategy, supervising and managing staff, identifying and coordinating with community resources as appropriate, and tracking and monitoring service implementation to ensure high-quality, relevant, client-centered service delivery aligned with agency and school mission and goals
  • Provide leadership of clinical team to maximize coordination and collaboration among staff, troubleshoot challenges, and identify and implement new services strategies, community partnerships or resource needs as appropriate
  • Identify and implement strategy for assigning students to counselors, monitor quality and levels of service provided and guide staff on adjustments as needed; oversee counselors’ case file management and monthly tracking reports and submit summary reports to management
  • Provide counseling and facilitate group activities as dictated by client need and school program expectations; complete case files and tracking reports for caseload

Specific Skills Required:

  • Strong counseling, case management, mediation and conflict resolution skills
  • Management and leadership skills and knowledge of child/adolescent development
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, including ability to juggle caseload of 60-70 clients, manage case file and tracking requirements, work collaboratively with other agency staff and provide departmental leadership and oversight
  • Strong teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills, including ability to work collaboratively with diverse staff and challenging clientele and ability to work in a dynamic, high stress environment
  • Spanish speaking preferred

Minimum Education, Experience & Other Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in a Counseling, Social Work, Psychology or related field
  • Counseling, case management and/or social work experience, preferably with youth experiencing significant life challenges
  • Experience working with culturally diverse populations, particularly youth experiencing significant life challenges and experience working in a school setting
  • Supervisory, management and leadership experience
  • LCSW, LPC, LMHC or similar licensure preferred

Salary: Full-time, exempt, year-round position with an annual salary range of $40,000 - $45,000; based on experience

Position Title: Director of Accounting and Administration

General Description of Duties: This position reports to the President and CEO and is responsible for:

  • Managing financial and accounting functions including: payroll, accounts payable, government grant billings, accounts receivable, and cash management.  
  • Establishing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures.
  • Designing internal control procedures, overseeing their implementation and monitoring compliance at all agency locations.
  • Maintaining general ledger, reconciling accounts monthly.  Preparing monthly financial statements, government grant worksheets and other reports.  Ensuring supporting documentation is prepared accurately and timely.
  • Providing timely financial information to foster effective decision-making.
  • Managing Parent Pathways’ administrative operations including: general office management, information systems, office equipment, records retention and other administrative duties to ensure efficient business operations.
  • Overseeing facility management.
  • Coordinating the external audit and assisting auditors as needed.
  • Maintaining an accounting of the agency’s investment funds and coordinating investment management activities with the external investment managers.
  • Coordinating the development of the agency budget.  Preparing financial projections and forecasts as needed.
  • Overseeing risk management, including tracking and safeguarding physical and financial assets and negotiating appropriate insurance coverage.
  • Reviewing and managing all contracts relating to purchased services.
  • Leading Parent Pathways activities to plan, negotiate and manage real estate and construction projects. 
  • Preparing or coordinating the preparation of applicable tax filings.
  • Participating as needed in human resource activities and decision-making.
  • Providing staff leadership to the Business Committee.  Providing information and input to the Board of Directors and participating on other agency committees and task forces as appropriate.
  • Participating as a member of senior management to provide organizational leadership in establishing priorities and plans to achieve them.

Position Title: Early Learning Center Classroom Teacher
Status:

Full-time position following the DPS calendar and running from early August through the end of May; position is based at 96 S. Zuni.

Date: February 2008

General Description of Duties:  Parent Pathway’s Early Learning Center provides childcare and developmental support for the children (ages 6 weeks to 3 years) of students attending the Florence Crittenton School.  The Center also provides parenting education and child development instruction for these student-parents.  This position reports to the Center’s Program Director and is primarily responsible for:

  • Providing warm and responsive care to infants and toddlers;
  • Modeling and instructing teen parents in appropriate care-giving behaviors;
  • Implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum, activities and practices;
  • Maintaining a safe, clean and attractive environment based on Qualistar guidelines and consistent with our high three-star rating.

Specific Skills Required:

  • Knowledge of early childhood education and child development principles and practices;
  • Strong interpersonal, collaborative and teamwork skills; ability to work collaboratively and effectively with staff as well as with teen parents;
  • Effective time management skills, particularly the ability to juggle and prioritize the needs and requirements of children, parents, and staff;
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to set up and manage an infant or toddler classroom, curriculum, and assessment system;
  • Spanish speaking skills and experience working with at-risk youth preferred.

Minimum Education, Experience & Other Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED with college level courses in ECE 101 and 103 or completed by January 1, 2010; Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education preferred;
  • Minimum 2 years experience in infant and toddler care;
  • Must be at least 21 years old and in good physical and mental health with ability to pass an annual medical exam and TB test per licensing requirements;
  • Able to lift and carry babies up to 30 pounds; able to stand, walk and otherwise move freely around the classroom;
  • Able to pass Colorado Central Registry and CBI criminal record checks and must have no prior misdemeanor or felony convictions for child abuse;
  • Current First Aid and infant CCPR certifications.

Salary: $11.50 - $14.75/hr based on experience and education

General Description of Duties:  This position reports to the Young Fathers Program Manager and provides case management services to teen fathers who face significant life challenges with an emphasis on furthering father-child bonding, parenting skills and responsibility, family relationships, job readiness, and educational achievement. 

Specific Skills Required:     

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of parenting, fatherhood, and family issues;
  • Ability to work with multi-cultural youth facing significant life challenges;
  • Effective presentation and teaching skills;
  • Excellent organizational, time management, communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work cooperatively with multi-disciplinary staff and other community providers; 
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish speaking skills;
  • Current drivers license and reliable transportation. 

Minimum Education, Experience & Other Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in social work, counseling, psychology or related field;
  • Experience in a youth outreach program and with group facilitation and training.
  • Experience working in a school setting is preferred. 

Salary: $29,000 to $34,000 based on experience and education
