Parent Pathways, Housing Services helps clients meet their basic needs, develop life skills for successful independent living, and change problematic lifestyles to become self-sufficient. 

Housing Services families acquire the skills and resources to help themselves while they problem-solve with their case manager to develop a plan for success.  The Housing Services case managers help clients realize their potential to lead a healthy, productive life.

This is a place where people can turn for help to get back on their feet…Housing Services provides those who are homeless, with housing and supportive services which facilitate their transition to stability and self-sufficiency.

Housing Services Provides:

  • Housing:
    - transitional housing
    - life skills training
    - support services for homeless families enrolled in the program
  • Professional case management
  • Referrals for other services
  • Life skills classes for housing clients
    Such as:
    - managing credit and budgeting
    - landlord/tenant relationships
    - accessing mainstream resources
    - parenting skills development

Housing Services Success

2005/2006 School Year

  • 32 families, 86 individuals were provided with short- or long-term transitional housing along with temporary financial assistance that helped them retain employment or access community resources
  • 50 families, 135 individuals, received case management services that helped to build their skills in home maintenance, financial management and employment
  • 58% (21 of 36) of adult participants had gainful employment or had enrolled in an education/employment/training program within three months of enrolling in our housing services

Housing Services Details

Populations Served: Young families with parents aged 16-25 who have children under the age of 18

Location: Housing Services Office, 6795 E. Tennessee Ave, Suite 600, Denver, Colorado 80224-1613

Length of Program:  1-2 years

Hours of Operation:  Housing Services office is open from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday - Friday

Qualifications: Housing Services clients are families with children, including teen parents over age 16. To qualify for services, must be homeless (per HUD guidelines) and meet the following criteria:

  • Parents age 16-25 years-old
  • Children under 18 in your custody

(Parent Pathways uses the Colorado Homeless Management Information System)
